The Barron Fund
We’re thrilled to announce the launch of The Barron Fund at Pyxis!
The Barron Fund is a brand new initiative we’ve created to support young people and their families. This fund is specifically designed to provide financial assistance to families and young people who may not otherwise be able to access our services.
Initial funding was raised thanks to the incredible efforts of the fund’s namesake, Oliver Barron, who undertook the Camino de Santiago Pilgrimage, a sponsored walk of almost 500 miles.
How will the funding be allocated?
Looking ahead, we hope that The Barron Fund will continue to be an important resource for our community. The fund will be allocated twice a year, in March and September, ensuring ongoing support for families and young people in need. We hope to grow the fund through additional fundraising activities, so that we can help even more young people access our services.
Thanks to Oliver’s contribution, we currently have £1,581 in the fund. This means we can offer the following this October:
One-to-One Mentoring: We will offer two young people 9 hours of mentoring each.
18-25 Social Group: We will offer two young people 12 sessions each at the group (only available to current group members in the 18-25 Pyxis.Social Groups).
10-17 Social Group: We will offer two young people 20 sessions each at the group (only available to current group members in the 10-13 and 14-17 Pyxis.Social Groups).
How Can I Apply?
Each March and September we will advertise The Barron Fund to the community, highlighting the capacity for support we have within the fund. Families can apply to the fund by filling out the “Expression of Interest” form and answering the question about whether you wish to access The Barron Fund.
Families currently accessing Pyxis sessions can also apply for this funding.
Please note that for this round, funding for the 10-17 Pyxis.Social groups can only be applied for by those already accessing these groups. This is because these groups are currently full and have waiting lists and we therefore feel it would be unfair to invite others to apply when there is no space for us to accommodate them at this time.
If you would like to access the fund for your young person already attending a 10-17’s group, there’s no need to apply via the website form - just get in touch with us directly to let us know.
We will review applications for the fund and allocate funding based on where we feel we can be most helpful.

Can I Support The Barron Fund?
We have already had some people kindly ask whether they can pay for other young people to access our service and the answer to this is a resounding yes! If you or someone you know would like to make a donation to The Barron Fund, we would be incredibly grateful. To donate, click one of the buttons below. The provider we use (called GoCardless) charges us a small percentage of any donation we receive - if you would like to avoid this or if you want to pay a different amount to the options listed below, please email admin@pyxis.life and let us know how much you would like to donate and we can contact you directly.
We’re really excited to see the positive impact The Barron Fund will have. If you have any questions at all, please do contact us at admin@pyxis.life.
